L'Enfant et les sortileges Poster Design

A concert featuring the music of RAVEL'S "L'ENFANT ET LES SORTILEGES" will be performed at the Mills Music Hall on Friday, October 27 at 7:30pm and on Sunday, Oct. 29th at 3pm. This design will be used for the poster, newspaper advertisements, and the concert program. University Opera hired me to design their posters for the 2006/07 Opera Concert Series. "L'Enfant" is about a boy who misbehaves and is sent to his room without supper. All the things (furniture, animals, etc.) that he's mistreated sing his wrong-doings. There is a duet between the boy's two cats in one scene of the opera. Hence, the two cats in the poster. I can't help but think of the Siamese cats in "Lady & the Tramp." In the end, the boy learns his lesson and treats his animals and possessions with respect.
